DAY 01

AIRPORT - GALLE

  • Arrive at the Airport & proceed to Galle
  • Enjoy a tour in the Galle Fort at leisure in the evening

Galle is a historic town located on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka. It is renowned for its well-preserved colonial architecture and fortified old town, which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The town also has a vibrant arts and culture scene, with numerous galleries and museums showcasing the work of local artists.

DAY 02

GALLE - SINHARAJA

Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the southwestern part of Sri Lanka. It is one of the last remaining rainforests in Sri Lanka and is considered a biodiversity hotspot.

DAY 03

SINHARAJA - UDAWALAWE - KOSLANDA

  • Early morning proceed to Sinharaja Rainforest for a bird watching & nature trek
  • Check-out and proceed to Kosalanda via Elephant Transit Home in Udawalawe
  • Check into the hotel

Udawalawe is a national park located in Sri Lanka, known for its population of wild elephants. The park covers an area of 308 square kilometers and is home to a variety of other wildlife, including leopards, deer, water buffalo, and many species of birds.

Visitors to Udawalawe can observe the elephants at the Elephant Transit Home from a designated viewing area, where they can watch the calves being fed and cared for by the staff.

DAY 04

KOSLANDA - NUWARA ELIYA

  • Check-out and proceed to Nuwara Eliya

  • Pay a visit to a tea factory and a tea plantation in the evening

Diyaluma Falls is 220 m (720 ft) high and the second highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. It is situated merely 6 km away from Koslanda in Badulla District on Colombo-Badulla highway

DAY 05

NUWARA ELIYA - HORTON PLAINS - KNUCKLES

  • Return to the hotel, check-out and proceed to Knuckles
  • After a short village and waterfall trek check in to the camp
  • Check into the hotel

Horton Plains National Park is a protected area located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. It is situated about 32 kilometers south of Nuwara Eliya and covers an area of 3,160 hectares. The park is known for its unique ecosystem, which includes montane grassland, cloud forest, and a variety of wildlife and plant species.

DAY 06

KNUCKLES

  • Early morning proceed to trek the Knuckles with a packed breakfast
  • Return to the Campsite

Knuckles Massif or the Knuckles Mountain Range is part of the Hill Country of Sri Lanka, 3000 Ft or 915 Mts above sea level and covers an area of about 90 Sq.Miles or 234 Sq.Km. If you look at the mountain range from the Kandy area (Or South West of the range), you will see that the 5 peaks of the mountain range resemble knuckles of clenched fist, the range is named as such.

The Knuckles Mountain Range is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its rich biodiversity, unique landscape, and cultural significance.

DAY 07

KNUCKLES - SIGIRIYA

  • Enroute Visit Dambulla Cave Temple
  • Check into Aliya Resort, Sigiriya
  • After an early dinner go on a Loris night walk
  • Overnight stay at the hotel

The Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in central Sri Lanka. The temple is situated in a large rock outcrop and is made up of five cave temples that have been converted into a Buddhist temple complex.

The temple is of great historical and religious significance to Sri Lanka, and is a popular pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is also a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the world to marvel at its stunning architecture and art.

DAY 08

SIGIRIYA - PIDURANGALA - LION'S ROCK SIGIRIYA

  • Early morning proceed to climb Pidurangala for sunrise
  • Proceed to Sigiriya Lions Rock
  • Return to the hotel

Pidurangala is a large rock situated a couple of kilometres away from Sigiriya. The rock was home to a monastery that dates to the 1st century BC which now remains as a temple. The view from the top of the rock provides a breath-taking point of view of Sigiriya and the surrounding landscape of forest, hills and lakes.

Sigiriya Lion's Rock is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District of Sri Lanka. The fortress was built in the 5th century AD by King Kashyapa, who ruled the region at that time. The rock is over 200 meters high and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.

DAY 09

SIGIRIYA - RITIGALA - MINNERIYA - SIGIRIYA

  • Early morning wake up for a bird-watching walk
  • After breakfast proceed to Ritigala Forest Reserve
  • Evening proceed to Minneriya National Park for a jeep Safari in search of Elephants.
  • Return to the hotels

Ritigala Mountain in Southeast Anuradhapura has fascinating ruins including an ancient Buddhist monastery, granite footpath, hospital with stone beds and oil baths, and raised platforms for meditation.

Minneriya National park is one of the best places in the country to see wild elephants. Dominated by the ancient Minneriya Tank, the park has plenty of scrub, forest and wetlands in its 88.9 sq km to provide shelter for toque macaques, sambar deer, buffalo, crocodiles, leopards and abundant birdlife aswell.

DAY 10

SIGIRIYA - ANURADHAPURA - WILPATTU

  • After breakfast proceed to Wilpattu National Park
  • Visit the Ancient city of Anuradhapura en Route
  • Overnight stay at the hotel

The first Ancient Captial of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura, was the capital of the king's country (Rajarata among locals) for around 1400 years. At the peak of its glory, the city is said to have been spread out over 52 km2 with a population of tens of thousands. With its magnificent monuments, intricate sculptures and imposing stupas, Anuradhapura is the perfect testament to ancient Sri Lankan culture.

A few of he notable sites you can visit spread across this world heritage site include: Temple of the Sacred Fig tree (Sri Maha Bodhi), Isurumuniya, Jetawanaramaya, Abhayagiriya, Thuparama and the Twin Baths.

DAY 11

WILPATTU - KALPITIYA

  • Enjoy a safari in the Wilpattu National Park in the morning
  • After the Safari proceed to the Hunuwilgama entrance for a boat transfer to Kalpitiya
  • Arrive and check-in to the hotel in Kapitiya
  • Overnight stay at the hotel

Wilpattu National Park, also known as the “Land of Lakes”, is a park located around the Northwest coast of Sri Lanka approximately 180 km north of Colombo.

The unique feature of this park is the existence of natural lakes. The park is 131, 693 hectares with around sixty lakes and tanks Wilpattu is Sri Lanka’s largest and one of its oldest National Parks. At the park one can spot Elephants, Sloth Bears, abundant Birdlife and Leopards if you are lucky!

DAY 12

KALPITIYA

  • Join a boat tour to witness Dolphins and Whales from Kalpitiya
  • Overnight stay at the hotel

Kalpitiya is often considered as the best place for Dolphin Watching in Sri Lanka. A pre-sunrise start will take you into the Indian Ocean accompanied by an experienced guide. Watch dolphins up close and even swim alongside them.

If you are interested you can also make a stop on the way back closer to the bar reef for a snorkelling experience and also some kite surfing

KALPITIYA - AIRPORT
