COLOMBO

Welcome to Colombo, the cosmopolitan capital city of Sri Lanka. With a vibrant mix of Buddhist, Hindu, Catholic, and Muslim communities, the city offers a fascinating blend of cultures and traditions.

Take a guided walking tour through the colonial neighborhood of Fort, named after the fort that once protected the city. Then, explore the bustling streets of Pettah, a merchant city behind Colombo's busy port. Here, you'll find an array of traders selling everything from electronics to Ayurvedic medicine, each street specializing in a particular product.

DAY 03

COLOMBO - KANDY

Day's Activities

• Proceed to Kandy
• Visit Temple of the Tooth
• Check into the Bungalow

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, commonly referred to as the Temple of the Tooth, is a Buddhist temple located in the city of Kandy. It is one of the most revered and sacred temples in the country, and is houses a tooth relic of the Lord Buddha.

The temple complex includes several buildings and shrines, including the main temple building, the Royal Palace of Kandy, and several museums. The Golden casing housing the relic can be viewed by visitors during the ceremonial opening of the room gates, accompanied by traditional drumming.

DAY 04

KANDY - PANWILA - KNUCKLES

Day's Activities

• Start Trekking to Knuckles, Climbing from Panwila & descending from Thangappuwa
• Picnic lunch during the course of the trekking
• Check into the Camp Site

Knuckles Massif or the Knuckles Mountain Range is part of the Hill Country of Sri Lanka, 3000 Ft or 915 Mts above sea level and covers an area of about 90 Sq.Miles or 234 Sq.Km. If you look at the mountain range from the Kandy area (Or South West of the range), you will see that the 5 peaks of the mountain range resemble knuckles of clenched fist, the range is named as such.

The Knuckles Mountain Range is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its rich biodiversity, unique landscape, and cultural significance.

DAY 05

KNUCKLES (THANGAPPUWA)

• Early Breakfast at the Camp Site
• Cooking Demonstration & Lunch at the village house
• Dinner and overnight stay at the camp site

Embark on an unforgettable adventure through the lush tea plantations and charming villages around Knuckles camp site. This exhilarating trek covers a distance of approximately 14 kilometers, taking you through some of the most breathtaking scenery in Sri Lanka.

Along the way, you'll encounter friendly locals and learn about their unique way of life. You'll also have the opportunity to sample some of the world's finest tea, freshly brewed from the leaves grown in these very plantations.

DAY 06

KNUCKLES - NANU OYA - OHIYA

Day's Activities

• Proceed to Nanu Oya Station
• Check into the hotel
• Dinner & overnight stay at hotel

Proceed to the station for the stunning train journey to Ohiya through lush green tea plantations and misty hills.

DAY 07

OHIYA - HORTON PLAINS

Day's Activities

• Proceed to Horton Plains
• Picnic lunch on the way
• Check into the hotel
• Dinner and overnight stay at Horton Plains Circuit Bungalow

Horton Plains National Park is a protected area located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. It is situated about 32 kilometers south of Nuwara Eliya and covers an area of 3,160 hectares. The park is known for its unique ecosystem, which includes montane grassland, cloud forest, and a variety of wildlife and plant species.

DAY 08

HORTON PLAINS - KIRIGALPOTHTHA - HORTON PLAINS

Day's Activities

• Early morning breakfast & leopard watching from the bungalow
• Proceed to Kirigalpoththa trek start point & start your trek
• Check into the bungalow

Kirigalpoththa is the second-highest mountain in Sri Lanka, with a height of 2,388 meters (7,835 feet). It is located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, in the Horton Plains National Park. The mountain trek is a popular activity for tourists visiting the area, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

The summit of Kirigalpoththa offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

DAY 09

HORTON PLAINS - NALLATHANNIYA

Day's Activities

• Leopard watching from the bungalow
• Short trek to worlds end
• Transfer to Nallathanniya
• Check into the hotel

The World's End is a popular tourist attraction located in Horton Plains National Park, Sri Lanka. It is a sheer cliff with a drop of around 870 meters, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

The hike to World's End is about 4 kilometers from the park entrance, and it takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete. Along the way, you can enjoy stunning scenery, including lush green forests, waterfalls, and diverse wildlife.

DAY 10

NALLATHANNIYA - ADAM'S PEAK CLIMB - RATNAPURA

Day's Activities

• Start the ascension of Adam’s Peak
• Reach the summit around 6 am for sunrise
• Leave at 8am for climbing down towards Ratnapura using the lesser used Kuruwita Trail
• Check into the hotel

Adam's Peak or Śrī Pāda is a 2,243 m (7,359 ft) tall conical sacred mountain located in central Sri Lanka. The mountain is one of the holiest sites in Sri Lanka known for the “Sri Pada” (Or “Sacred Footprint”). This 1,8-metre footprint embedded into the rock has a spiritual significance to the countries 4 major religious groups.

The Buddhist believe this is lord Buddha's footprint whereas Islamic and Catholic traditions believe it to be where Adam first set foot on earth. According to Hindu tradition the footstep belongs to deity Shiva. To make the most of your experience set of early in the morning to catch the breath-taking sunrise from the summit.

RATNAPURA - COLOMBO

DAY 12

COLOMBO - AIRPORT

Day's Activities

• After Breakfast, proceed to the Airport for the departure.
