Mount Lavinia is a coastal surburb of Colombo situated 12km south of the city center. The Governor of Ceylan, Sir Thomas Maitland, built his mansion there in 1805 on a hill overlooking the picturesque Colombo coastline. Since then this mansion has been converted into a luxurious hotel.
With its beautiful beaches, Mount Lavina is Colombo's little beach getaway and is often full of locals on the weekends and holidays enjoying the long sandy beaches and the warm temperate waters.
The Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in central Sri Lanka. The temple is situated in a large rock outcrop and is made up of five cave temples that have been converted into a Buddhist temple complex.

Pidurangala is a large rock situated a couple of kilometres away from Sigiriya. The rock was home to a monastery that dates to the 1st century BC which now remains as a temple. The view from the top of the rock provides a breath-taking point of view of Sigiriya and the surrounding landscape of forest, hills and lakes.
Minneriya National park is one of the best places in the country to see wild elephants. Dominated by the ancient Minneriya Tank, the park has plenty of scrub, forest and wetlands in its 88.9 sq km to provide shelter for toque macaques, sambar deer, buffalo, crocodiles, leopards and abundant birdlife aswell.
Sigiriya Lion's Rock is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District of Sri Lanka. The fortress was built in the 5th century AD by King Kashyapa, who ruled the region at that time. The rock is over 200 meters high and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
Spice gardens located in the hill town Kandy offers visitors a chance to learn about Sri Lankan spices and herbs. These gardens have a wide variety of plants, including cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and vanilla. One unique aspect of Udawalawe is its Elephant Transit Home, which is run by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation. The Elephant Transit Home rescues and rehabilitates orphaned elephant calves, with the ultimate goal of releasing them back into the wild.
Visitors to Udawalawe can observe the elephants at the Elephant Transit Home from a designated viewing area, where they can watch the calves being fed and cared for by the staff.
Nestled behind reefs and sandbars, Dickwella Beach offers stunning vistas of traditional Sri Lankan fishing boats, their mirrored images dancing on the crystal-clear waters.
